Here comes Santa Claus

Whenever I admire a professional photographer's portfolio, there is always something consistent among their works - something that identifies their own unique style. Well, I think Chad has developed a trademark look of his own. It's called "Whenever I am photographing my wife and son, I will perform some magic trick, and the result will make it look like they have been superimposed in this scene." I don't know why we look like we have been Photoshopped onto the corner of King and Fifth streets here; if I were going to doctor an image, you can bet I'd pick a more glamorous background to start from.

The truth of the matter is that we did go to the Santa Claus parade yesterday. Well, we went to half of it, and that was quite enough for us. I felt like I had some 'splaining to do to Liam - it was just last week that he and I were watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, marvelling at these enormous balloons and floats that must have cost a mint - and then the parade we take him to consists entirely of Cub Scout troups singing Christmas carols on the back of flatbed trucks. (You can cross-reference my Canada Day post for more on the joys of small-town parades). So, getting there in time to see only the last half of the parade was perfect timing for us - we saw the Big Man, we saw more karaoke than I would have liked, we picked up a couple of candy canes and press-on tattoos for us, I mean, er, Liam - it was a perfect parade outing.
