Happier days

(Back in Liam's happy, pre-teething days...)

Today is, in fact, my birthday (Jenn, you wasted no time in letting the cat out of the bag!) On this day last year, a tiny little Liam and I were puttering around the house, out for a walk, shopping downtown, and munching on a box of chocolates thoughtfully dropped off by Megan. This year, Liam is just a bit bigger, and I am at work trying to make up for the time I missed yesterday, running off-peak storage scenarios, analyzing customers’ injection patterns, and sinking deeper into the compressor fuel quagmire. The day is actually shaping up quite well, seeing as that it started out with Liam’s diaper splitting open, releasing a stream of those liquid-absorbing crystals from one end of the house to the other that I am sure we will still be cleaning up at this time next year (one more reason why I hate disposable diapers); and then for some added fun, Captain hacked up a hairball. Because, you know, if you’re going to clean up one mess, why not another one? Lucky for me, Megan came through with another box of chocolates which is already disappearing fast. (Hey, I don’t drink coffee and after a couple of sleepless nights, I need the caffeine).

I really can’t complain, because after last night’s bedtime fiasco, Liam did mostly sleep through the night (if you can count a 5 a.m. wake-up time as being normal) and seems to be in better spirits today, though still not 100%; and I did score some great birthday loot. Back in March when Chad got his new bike, I got one as well; to still make this month fun, I more recently also received a pair of Crocs, a compact camera bag, a waffle maker and a big galvanized watering can. All good stuff.

Now back to work… I don’t want to be working late today of all days.

Happy Birthday! Glad you were able to sleep better! I'm jealous! Have a chocolate for me okay?? Enjoy your day and do something completely selfabsorbed today!~

Funny,
Cory and I were trying croc's on the girls on Sunday thinking they would make great birthday gifts for them. Just for the record, Evie wears kids size 12 and likes the green, Audrey wears size 9 and was partial to the purple. We thought perhaps $29 was too much to pay for plastic shoes they will out grow in a year. Cory said I couldn't buy any for myself.
Glad Dana didn't eat your gift. You might as well finish them off as they will melt as soon as you walk out the door of the office.

That's funny - Yesterday as I had a little extra time to myself to shop I treated myself to a pair of Crocs and a galvanized watering can. What colour are your Crocs? I had a hard time choosing and settled on orange. I am jealous about the waffle maker as I have wanted one for years (I love waffles and have visions of us making a tradition out of them for Sunday morning family breakfasts...) Sorry about spilling it about your birthday but if it wasn't me it was bound to be someone else (Megan??) Again - happy day to you!! :)

I got the light blue. It was down to that, the light pink and the orange, but I thought the blue were most versatile (and I've been on an orange clothing spree lately - must stop!) I can see why some people have them in every colour, but I am sure I will kick myself for buying them in a few months' time when they are as ubiquitous as the poncho was a couple of years ago. Then, I will be glad to only have bought into the trend a lil' bit and not a lot.

Hey!
I just got two poncho's and I LOVE them. I don't care if they are totally 2004!

Happy Birthday. I was thinking of buying a watering can myself but I was visualizing a plastic one. Is galvanized the way to go? Until now I didn't know what Croc's were but I looked them up on the Net. I think Chad, Cory and Darin would all look good in a pair.

It's a good thing they didn't have light blue at Roots or we definately would have ended up with the same colour. Love the orange capris...
BTW where do you find Crocs for little feet - I am on a birthday mission since I am not allowed to give animals as presents.

North by North West at MasionVille Mall. They sell those shoes at Roots?

Andy, don't even think about buying me a pair of crocs for my birthday. I would prefer a car accessory. But if Cory had his choice, he would chose pink.

I'm sorry I'm late, but wanted to wish you a happy birthday!!

BTW, do you realize that not only are our kids very close in terms of birthdays but we are too? Mine is June 8th. :)
