I don't think Liam gets it - when we had leftover pie yesterday, he asked for a candle in it again.
(I had intended to make half of a cake, to play up the 'half' theme, but ran out of time... so we had to make do with pie!)
I have to say though, I did not time my kids' birthdays well for this. Their actual birthdays are in April, smack in the middle of Easter candy season, and their half birthdays are in October when Halloween is looming... two months when we really don't need an excuse to eat anymore crap!
