That's Mrs. Soccer Mom to you

On Saturday, Liam had his first soccer game. The season actually started the week before, on the long weekend, but we were out of town. Luckily, so were a lot of the other kids. For his first game, Liam's team - the silver Timbits team - played the white Timbits team. It was a sunny day and let me just tell you that it was difficult, as a spectator, to tell which kid was on which team. That didn't stop Liam's team from winning 5-1 though, with Liam picking up an assist! We were not sure how soccer would go over with Liam and during his first period of play, on defense and with the ball at the far end of the field the whole time, it looked like it might not go well. But when Liam got to play forward, he really came into his own. The kid loves to run so I think soccer is perfect for him!He didn't go after the ball aggressively, but he did kick at it when it came his way. With a little more practise and confidence, I think he's going to do really well. (I know it looks like Liam (#2) took that kid out, but he really didn't.)Of course, the popsicles at half time helped enrich the experience, too! Now if I can only figure out how to entertain Mallory on the sidelines for 1.5 hours every Saturday morning...

Go Liam! They used to serve oranges at half time...I say popsicles are an upgrade!

The fruit came out first, but they were holding the popsicles in reserve and everyone managed to make a bit of room in their tummies!
